Prophesy is a spiritual weapon and just like a physical weapon, if it is misused it will cause more damage than good.
When we hear or see something that the Lord allows us about somebody we are supposed to first, pray concerning it and see if it is God’s will that we share what we know, then we are supposed to pray to be sure their thoughts are submitted to the Lord Jesus Christ according to 2 Corinthians 10:5, so we can know if they will even believe the word or not, then we are supposed to pray for healing that when they receive the word it will not shatter or destroy them entirely.
It is never the desire of the Lord for us to suffer with salt in the same wounds, over and over again.
The Prophetic can be very dangerous, because a word spoken out of season or context will not produce joy, growth, direction and healing. Hence we need to use wisdom with God’s gifts.
God wants to protect us, guide us, and heal us. He wants us to live our best lives and not be stuck in cycles of sorrow and destruction.
This reminds me of the story with Uzzah who was struck dead by God for touching the Ark of the Covenant to steady it when the oxen carrying it stumbled, this happened because a divine law was violated.
Likewise we need to pray that every word proceeding from our mouth is according to God’s will and it is projecting healing and not pulling apart emotions, breaking joy and strength cutting off one’s desire to do anything concerning the Lord.
Not everybody needs a word, some people just need prayer and support.
