Obedience and Sacrifice are two very important parts of our Christ walk.
The Lord wants us to offer Sacrifice unto him daily, with our praise and thanksgiving. So as we go about our day we should be thanking God continually just as he requests in the book of Hebrews chapter thirteen verse fifteen.
The following verse, sixteen says, “But to do good and to communicate, forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
The Lord is pleased when we continuously keep a line of communication with him throughout our day, and even at appointed times listening keenly to his wisdom, instructions and guidance.
Another form of Sacrifice is disconnecting from any of the things of the world in which we seek comfort and recreation to spend more time learning about everything concerning Godliness. Fasting or Abstaining for a particular period of time, are also forms of sacrifices. God loves sacrifice, therefore dedicating at least, but not limited to, an hour a day for worship is also sacrifice.
Verse seventeen, explains the importance of submission and obedience to men and women in the body of Christ that were sent ahead of us. There is great blessing in obedience but it cannot replace our sacrifices of thanksgiving. Expressing gratitude to the Lord for all his wonderful benefits.
Obedience also speaks about doing what is right, even when we do not feel like it, especially when you are not being told or instructed. It requires you to be self driven, “steadfast and abounding” for the Glory of God, rather than being slothful. As our old folks used to say “make hay while the sun is shining”.
Blessings!
