Singing is for people to be entertained, Worshipping is for Jesus to be Praised!
The dependency of someone to sing to us as we open a service is too much we need to be able to usher the Lord’s presence on our own strength. Church service is not a Concert or a show.
Worship is personal, so do not wait on someone to worship God for you. It is so weird the way people go to church and wait for the singers and musicians to arrive to help them praise a plastic praise.
I call it the plastic praise because it is the praise that sounds good but does not come from the core of your heart.
A real praise may not sound good to you or someone else in the room but to God it is musical sacrifice and offering, it is sweet because it comes from the heart.
We are way too concerned about how we sound to others when we are supposed to freely Praise our God as the word says in the book of Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God”. Praise is an act of supplication and thanksgiving.
For example, when I am interceding and Praying the Lord drops sounds in my Spirit, either one that has been recorded before or one that is brand new, no matter what, once I hear it, I begin to worship as the spirit leads, regardless of what is currently being sung and played. This creates an intimate moment with me and my Lord.
The Lord wants to achieve the same with every believer, we can all have intimate moments in the same space, therefore when we are in his presence we ought to surrender our whole heart and soul so that he can truly move. This can only be done by focusing on God Almighty and not looking at anyone that is there during the worship time because distraction can easily break the connectivity. There is sufficient time to Socialize afterwards which we can seek to do also, but try not to miss the moment when the Lord is moving, because ten people can be in one space at the same time and only one or two capture the Lord’s attention in that moment, when he wants everyone to connect so that one accord can be created, for a greater move.
So put away distractions, close your eyes and worship, it will help you to focus on the Lord Almighty alone.
When asked if I can sing, my response will always be no because I am a Worshipper not a singer.
I don’t do concerts or shows, rather Praise Sessions by the Grace of God. Hallelujah Jesus!
