Denominations can be referred to as subgroups within a religion in this case we are discussing Christianity, that shares a common name and tradition. Examples are as follows; Catholics, Anglicans, Pentecostals, Open Bible, Seventh Day Adventist and Jehovah Witnesses to name a few. They all are Christians and read the Bible but have different interpretations of how the Gospel should be applied to our lives.
I have not studied each individual religion but understand that apart from the Pentecostal Believers {full Gospel}, the other denominations serve part of the Gospel and not in its entirety. Yet interestingly, within the Pentecostal Believers, some still function today according to Moses Law, while others follow the New Covenant, then some, call themselves the “Open Bible”. I would like to Believe that the Leader of each Church and its members all open their Bibles to read it daily, therefore should all carry the title. Hummm!
Jehovah Witnesses do not believe in the Trinity therefore I am not even sure that they should be under the umbrella of Christianity, because the Holy Spirit is Real, hence the reason today we can remember Resurrection.
Seventh Day Adventists do not believe in praying tongues unless an interpreter is present to translate the tongues, although understandable, if it is a personal prayer to the Lord I do not see the need for it to be translated unless that person desires to know what they said to the Lord. The beautiful thing about praying in tongues is that you cannot corrupt the prayer with your own desires because you do not know what is going to be said, therefore it is a pure way to pray. Even for those who can translate it, that is also by the power of the Holy spirit, hence the translation only comes into the spirit of the person translating after the tongue has proceeded because it is a spiritual transaction, so that cannot be corrupted, they are just repeating what the spirit said concerning the sound of the tongue, if the interpreter enquires in their spirit.
For example if an interpreter is in a room where 50 people are praying in tongues, they cannot translate 50 at a time, however if they tune into one sound, and enquire in the spirit they will get a response in their spirit concerning that person’s prayer, at that time.
Anglicans believe in the tongues but as far as I knew not Catholics as they worship Mary, incense and the Rosary, although I recently met a Catholic Believer who crossed over into Pentecostal Beliefs including the tongues, and they have not re-Baptized in a Pentecostal Ministry. They carry all the Gifts as a Pentecostal Believer, which means that the Holy Spirit Baptizes us for Ministry after our water Baptism, which is amazing. This means that the Holy Spirit has the power to Baptize every single member of all the variations of Churches mentioned above, teach and train them all to understand the full capacity of the Gospel and enable them to function according to God’s will.
It is my prayer that we put away religion, which has caused separation for several years in the body of Christ, and receive a great REVIVAL by the power of the Holy Spirit, come together as a Christian body and all serve the Gospel in its entirety until the return of the Lord Jesus !!! In Jesus name Amen, Hallelujah Jesus !
