Mothers vs Spiritual Mothers
Being a Mother is more than just giving birth, providing, educating and nurturing. One of the most important parts of Motherhood is the pivotal role of providing Spiritual counsel, guidance and leadership. For this reason the Lord has created a position called “Spiritual Mothers”, their role is similar to that of a Biological mother but prioritising, spirit led leadership mainly. It would have been amazing to have your biological mother be that person but God sometimes allows it to be someone else he assigns along the way, not meant to replace, but to add value for his Glory.
God Mothers
There are also the role of God mothers, who are supposed to fulfill the role of a mother in the event that the mother cannot take care of something, or simply be a backing to the biological mother, standing alongside her in support and agreement concerning that child.
Stepmothers
I have walked in the role of stepmother as well so fully understand how difficult that role can be due to the stigmas surrounding it. Most times you would be mothering and nurturing in a torn situation so being prayerful and having a fair hand will definitely be an asset. I truly believe that love is the answer to every problem, especially regarding family and relationships. God is Love, and anything he is involved in turns to Gold.
Mothers by Occupation
There are those who mother without giving birth, teachers, counsellors, leaders, coaches, instructors, and so many more offices, who may not have families of their own but are assigned to positions that call them to apply the God-given values and instincts within the capacity of a mother.
Weeping Mothers
This morning while standing in the gap for mothers in prayer, the Lord led me into the realization that not everyone you see supporting their child openly are as strong behind closed doors, because some have become mothers by rape and by other other forms of sexual abuse, some have become single mothers against their own will, by the death, departure or delinquency of the fathers of that child, some are dealing with miscarriages and have not enjoyed being a mother to this day for medical or spiritual reasons, some have became mothers before their time via teenage pregnancies. Some may be weeping because of now understanding the dangers and spiritual implication of having previously aborted their journey of becoming a biological mother.
Then there are those who have given birth but lost their children legally due to drug abuse, surrogacy or simply had to part ways due to immigration issues or something else. Mothers day is not a time of celebration for everyone.
Although, while we acknowledge mothers day today, I’d like to specifically highlight the weeping mothers globally, those that have been labelled as being a failure when they simply did not have the right support systems. Yes, there are mothers who are even imprisoned today with false accusations pinned to their name and because they did not have enough influence nor affluence to fight and prove their innocence, hence the reason, their child grew up without them. Things are pinned to my name everyday, especially by persons who ought to know better but I serve a God who has the ability to dismantle every scheme of the enemy. Not everyone has learnt how to access the throne of God for their peace and freedom so having to suffer the consequences of the system they weep.
There are mothers today who lost their children while giving birth, some by crime, others by accident, sickness and suicide. It is not happy mothers day for them therefore they need our support, they need strength and for their joy to be restored, they need healing and restoration.
There are also women who are weeping today because they have not been able to give birth for different reasons, yet it may be their desire and that of their family. It is a difficult place to be in as a woman.
Those mothers that went abroad to seek better lives for their children and were not granted the opportunity to ever return home or have their children meet them. Dealing with the distance and inability to hug and kiss their children or show up at their graduations, birthdays, and special milestones in their lives, yet they provide financial support.
Mother in laws
The role of the mother in law is supposed to be an additional support system and backbone to the family that her child has now become a part of but widespread mother in laws have become their children’s competitors and a source of discord, lacking the ability to lead in a Godly fashion. On the other hand there are several mother in laws who have really nailed it in their ability to love with a fair hand and lead in a humane and Godly fashion, at least being supportive and compassionate if nothing else.
Grandmothers and Great Grandmothers
There are Grandmothers and Great grandmothers who have raised generations with a fair hand and need to be commended, although some may have already left to be with their maker we should remember their posture and strive to be like them regarding our own families.
A Mother
A mother is a Beacon, the bearer of life and the greatest help to any and every household. They assume the positions without training, because their ability to function comes naturally.
Prayer
Father God we pray for every mother or woman who may be weeping today for various reasons today, even those we may not have mentioned, Lord we pray for their strength and joy to be restored today, Father comfort heal and guide in Jesus name, Father we thank you today for every mother that have contributed to this world in every way that they did, we give you Glory and we thank you in advance for those you will raise to be mothers in future for your Glory, we ask oh God that as they function in the office of motherhood they seek you every day for the right wisdom and guidance, Father today we pray for the mothers that need your touch, heal them Lord and we celebrate those that have walked in their purpose against all the odds, in Jesus name, more Grace Lord. Glory Hallelujah!
To every woman and mother, may you receive the strength to continue in Jesus name!
