Every functioning member in Ministry needs to rest and revive in order to grow in spirit, and be more effective concerning the mandate given to them. This is why functioning members also known as “Credential workers” need to be rotated in such a way that they are not only working at the altar and in the house of God but also having sufficient time to marinate under the anointing of the Lord, resting in their fathers arms without worry, enjoying the worship without being overly concerned to stay on key, and look presentable.
Being somebody who served in Church for a few years, in order to keep the fires of the Lord burning I’d always see my Pastor, rotating the functioning staff, having a sharp eye to observe when weariness of the spirit is almost about to step in, this is very important and today the Lord reminded me of this as he is very concerned about the growth and effectiveness of his Churches.
Resting and rotating will also avoid the “pride fall”.
We may think that coming to the prayer line after service is enough to restore the fire of God upon us in the spirit but allocated time in the presence of the Lord is a requirement. Just like how batteries, electronic devices and mechanical devices can become burnt out so can believers, the oil can run dry and the fire of the Lord can be quenched, it has nothing to do with checking the boxes of repentance, prayer and attendance. God needs time from us, as growth takes time, there is no shortcut. We need to be in God’s presence without distraction, breaking the lust of the flesh so that the spirit man inside of us can be made strong, and we can subsequently hear clearly what the spirit of the Lord is saying concerning our lives and the Ministries he has called us to.
Religion has mainly taken over the Church, while there are some that are still being led by the spirit of the Lord, especially the elders, but the Lord wants to give birth to the various gifts of the spirit in more believers, however their lives are filled with distractions, hence in moments where he desires to lead, they are doing what they know is right, which is not entirely wrong but the Lord wants his will to be done in every moment, because we will lead people astray if God is not in the lead.
God needs submission, sacrifice, obedience and true brokenness before him.
Even the Leaders of the different houses of God become so busy sometimes with the various aspects of the Ministries that there is not sufficient time to soak in God’s presence, resting, rebuilding and rejuvenating their spirits. The vessel that is being used to deliver also needs to constantly be delivered to ensure that no scheme from the pit of hell can take root with the intention to affect the entire body. There are conferences in place specifically for the Leaders to “recoup and regroup” but do all of them make it to attend so that they can receive the revival in their spirits?
The body of Christ needs to die to their desires and find life in Christ again.
Leaders are calling prayer and fast sessions yet most of the body is still unfasted, for this reason many are sick and weak among us. There is a lack of discipline, being a disciple requires discipline. People eat too much! and play with the Lord’s time.
Credential workers who hold some of leadership offices in the Church can hardly go one full day without food or drink but expect to receive power from God.
We are soldiers in the army of the Lord, called to war against the enemy but how can we fight powers and principalities when we are overloaded in the flesh, with weakened spirits? It’s not possible, however, faith and fasting as mentioned in Matthew 17:20-21, will keep every believer broken yet strengthened to be able to be better servants of the Lord.
Father in the name of Jesus we pray for your laborers, those that need revivals in their spirit to receive the grace to Rest and Rejuvenate in Jesus name!
