A house is Expensive no doubt, whether you build it or purchase it but a home is priceless because it is built on a foundation of love, love is priceless and immeasurable.
A house is a place where you live and store your belongings, it can be convenient but also a place where you do not want to be if it is not filled with the aspects of a thriving home. Just a filthy place where someone falls back in anticipation of the day ahead, filled with expensive things but nobody to enjoy it with. Nobody to share moments with just an empty cave, yet filled with actual things. Empty of laughs, empty of games, empty of celebrations and get togethers, empty of friendships and exchanging conversations and ideas, empty of the promises to be there to support a loved one in their daily tasks, empty of the sound of little children laughing and playing together, empty of the smell of the family Sunday lunch coming together, empty of the hugs and play fights between relatives, empty of plans for the next family outing, empty of good memories, empty of company to pray with and worship with, even if it means singing off key, empty of being brought together in love and unity.
The enjoyment of being part of a home is priceless and I will never trade it for a house.
Dear monster in laws keep your very cold houses that you have single handedly created as an extension of your very cold hearts. Nobody wants to be in your space except out of pity to clean the filth up. When the Lord gives a Blessing there is a desire of love surrounding it, hence those of you that have scattered the essential factors of your home to hold on to the physical components of a just house, this is because you have clearly earned it from another source, it can’t be God-given. God does not give things that would cause bitterness, segregation, selfishness, worst yet unending, uncontrollable and ongoing anger.
As for me, I chose to be part of a home, a place where it is ok to sleep late once in a while, and switch things up out of a rigid everyday schedule once in a while if that is what it takes to enjoy some good rest, undisturbed time in God’s presence, and share a few laughs and light moments, a place when there is an unexplainable peace of mind that if things run low sometimes you know God will bring it together for his Glory, an environment free of fear, daily plots and schemes that can cause discord, a place when a child can feel safe to express themselves and be natured up with love and not judgement, a place where you can make a joke with a neighbour, walk out to a park and have some fun, a home is not a perfect place it is a place where love lives among those that are there and the people in that place matter more than the esthetics of the place so their lives are valued more than the actual walls and items at the location.
A home is a beautiful place, based on those that reside there and choose to be a part of something beautiful and welcoming.
I’d rather not live in a place where I have to hold my breath till the moment I walk out the door to exhale, especially with the expectancy of violence to break out and the flick of a finger, so keep your house and all the madness that comes with it, while I build my home on Christ the solid rock, a place where arguments are far and few and the beauty of God’s Holiness can thrive.
If you have a house instead of a home, it is time to repent! You cannot hide there forever, there is no hiding place from God, he knows what your darkest hour looks like as well as your brightest day, make it right today, don’t let your cry be too late.
God’s desire is for all of humanity to have a place to call home, so look within the walls of where you reside and ask yourself, is this a home or just a house. Let the Lord guide you!
