The Veil

A few mornings ago, As I emerged from under the mosquito net, I heard the Lord say “The veil”, I marked it down and as I looked up the irony of the mosquito net forming as an actual veil over me whilst I slept, made me smile, although I already knew he Lord had given me another article. Glory to God.

When a Groom removes the veil from his Brides face he reveals her beauty and comes into an intimate moment with her, likewise in the book of Hebrews chapter ten verses twenty, when the Lord says; “By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh” refers to a veil that is “not actual”, being removed breaking the barrier between humanity and God. The event of Christ Body being broken for us, represents that veil being removed.

Even when a veil remains, it can also be described as a form of protection and covering like how we place a net over our newborns, removing this practice once they are matured to a certain age. It is a display of love and absolute care protecting what we know to be tender and deserving of such care. Similarly in our greenhouses we use a veil of protection from the harsh weather conditions and over our beds if we live in tropical areas that have more mosquitoes than usual we place a net which is just like an actual veil.

The inner beauty of a person can only be revealed, and their true identity unraveled when they are saved because of the veil of the Lord which hides them until that very moment they are saved. What a wonder it is to discover that we are hidden in Christ even before coming into the covenant of Salvation, where Christ enables us a “new living way” God is so good.

It is my belief that for this same reason when an actual veil is removed in an earthly wedding, that Bride is supposed to also be shown a new way as she follows the paths of her Groom who should come into an inseparable intimacy with her and allow old things to pass away regarding his behaviours and selfish desires, as he guides her through a new path in life whilst they both remain grounded in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Almost all of the scriptures describe ways that can cause us to be better inside out. Once we apply ourselves to reading the word, we can never be the same because the entrance of the word gives us light. We cannot meditate on the word day and night and remain the same. Hallelujah Jesus!
