Superstitiousness is foolishness!

It is not possible to be a believer and superstitious at the same time therefore showing signs of superstitious beliefs is a clear indication of where someone’s faith stands. It is basically a fear of bad luck or bad omen, and in other cases believing in luck instead of relying on God’s blessings and favour.

Therefore if you are navigating life whilst being careful not to walk under ladders, spil salt, pass black cats in addition to whatever is on your list of “bad”, you may not have faith in God.

Additionally, our lives are a product of what we believe in, this means that if someone believes that bad will come to them in a particular setting, it more than likely will because that is what they attract to themselves by the way they think. It has nothing to do with if these false doctrines are factual or not.

For example having a black cat does not make someone a witch nor bring bad luck to that particular space, rather attracting bad with a negative thought process or literally doing bad will reflect to suit.

God made all the animals in all different colours, shapes and sizes, just as he did with humans, therefore we need to appreciate every form of life.

If a black man is afraid of a black cat, that makes him a hyprcrite! The cat did not choose his colour, nor his pedigree, so we need to stop this nonsense in the name of Jesus.

We just have to pray, believe and seek the Lord on a daily basis without worrying about foolishness that makes no sense at all.

Although there is indeed bad in the earth it is not influenced by ladders, black cats and walking in your doorways backwards afterwards no matter what they may have told you as a child growing up.

My daughter found a mouse some months ago and used to hide and throw food in corners so that it can eat, as soon as I found our told her about my intentions to put it down since it carries sicknesses, this was done and she cried asking me how I can believe in God and kill a living thing that God created. Obviously she had a valuable point, although we came to an agreement to get her a better pet, agreeing upon a kitten which happens to be black and she loves him much more because she can actually pet him, instead of hiding to throw food in corners and being unable to touch it as with the mouse.

One day I went to cut a fig tree after it bore fruit, she said; “mummy why are you killing the tree?”, even after mentioning that it could not bare again she still found we should keep it because it is still a form of life. This is why the Lord can use children in places where adults cannot be used because their sensitivity towards the things of God is higher than adults with hardened hearts.

We need to stop this superstitiousness in Jesus’ name, it is unGodly and I can see right through anyone that comes to our place tiptoeing around our black kitten. May the Lord heal you from your foolishness!
