If only people were afraid of the fire that they may have to endure if faced with eternal damnation as much as they are afraid of fire on earth.
When people see fire in an image they react, mentioned in a worship song or simple conversation they react and even a simple fireside for the purpose of outdoor cooking can provoke a reaction as well.
Not every time fire is used, mentioned or displayed is a sign of a ritual which is why discernment is essential, not just on your Christ walk but in general.
While it is understood that fire can be used in a ritual, we also have to know that God created fire for heat in cold countries, as a process for preparing plastics, metal, fine stones and jewelry among millions of other methods that fire and heat can be used for including cooking in our everyday lives.
Even the human body produces heat, hence it is cold when life is gone in addition to the reason we look forward to the sunshine in tropical countries like Trinidad and Tobago. Heat also represents life although we do not want to be associated because of the infamous “lake of fire”, a place surrounding judgement.
Any form of sin that is not mitigated can lead on into such a place of judgement even if they have not danced around a fire, lit a fire for the purpose of a ritual, took pictures that had fire in the background, hung painting on our wall that has fire graphics in it, or reshared a post on social media that has a fire in it.
Instead of avoiding fire, the focus should be to live according to the will of God, keep a posture of repentance and overall try to gain more understanding concerning the things of God.
Don’t run for cover every time you see a fire, especially just an image because that is foolishness.
In fact, let the “fire” of the Lord burn in you so brightly that it outshines every fear and doubt in Jesus name!
