Holy Garments

When you have an encounter with Jesus, pay attention to even the garments that you are wearing as everything becomes blessed, from the inward man to the outward Garments.

Speaking from experience, I wore a particular jacket on one of my first encounters with the Lord, which was not planned at all, and every time going forward that I have important engagements would wear the same and it has always been a good day.

In the Kingdom of God, Garments matter which is why when the woman with the issue of Blood in Matthew 9:20-22, touched the hem of Jesus’s garment she was healed.

Even in Acts 19:12 you will see that handkerchiefs and aprons belonging to Paul, previously saturated with God’s healing power by the manifestation of the Holy Spirit working through him, was taken to the sick and demon possessed in attempts to redeem them.

I am sure this is the concept where the prayer cloths that are sometimes used in Ministry came from.

Additionally, in Luke 15:22 the best robe was given to the prodigal son by his father, an example where Garments were used as a representation of Restoration, and unearned Grace and Favour. He initially returned home in filthy rags from residing in the pig pen, covered in shame.

Then the term “Clothed” with Christ, the “Garments of Salvation,” and the “Robe of Righteousness are all mentioned in the Bible. Purple garments were worn by Kings, and white garments were mentioned to represent spiritual victory and purity. As refenced from the following Bible verses; Mark 9:2-3, Matthew 28:2-3, Acts 1:10, Revelation 3:4-5, Revelation 7:14.

Even in Genesis Adam and Eve were clothed by God with animal skins after their fall, after the Lord removed their self-made fig leaf aprons.

This is also why workers of iniquity do things to people’s garments in efforts to affect them. I have heard testimonies in Church where people missed their favorite shoe or piece of clothing before falling sick and so on. I am more than certain that our old folk would tell us not to lend clothing and personal items for spiritual protection.

The Lord wants everything concerning us to be blessed in addition to us also being blessed and anything can be used for his glory.
